Florida Registered Nurses License Renewal: All licenses are
renewed by the department in three groups:
Group 1 – current license will expire at midnight, Eastern
Time, April 30, 2014
Group 2 – current license will expire at midnight, EasternTime, April 30, 2014
Time, July 31, 2014
Group 3 – current license will expire at midnight, Eastern
Time, April 30, 2015
Florida Nurses are required to complete total 24 contact
hours, including 22 general contact hours, 2 hours of Medical Errors, 2 hours
of Laws & Rules, and 2 hours of Domestic Violence (every third biennium and
the hours are in addition to the 24 hours required for renewal). All required
24 hours can be live or home study/online.
